The best of church website design — 25 examples
This is a beta version of my revived gallery of the best of church website design. There are only 25 churches currently in my database, but I will be adding more as quickly as possible. My goal: 250 examples of the best of church website design and church ministry websites (e.g., a church's youth ministry website — but not websites of parachurch organizations). Eventually, I will add the ability to filter search results. Churches added within the past two weeks are marked as "NEW."
Use the email link below to send suggestions to me. Include church or church ministry name, location (city, state/region, and country), and URL. Especially welcome: suggestions for ethnic churches (Hispanic, African-American, Chinese, etc.), suggestions for churches located outside the United States, and church websites that use a language other than English. I generally will not have time to respond personally to emails.
Progress report:
September 13, 2011: added 13 churches
August 20–31, 2011: added 12 churches

(Westlake Village, California, USA)
Metro area (U.S only): N/A
Date added:
21 August 2011Designer: Faith Network
Comments & notes: Website proper is not centered in the browser window, but positioned on the left side. Login and Search links (not shown in screen shot), however, are in the top right corner of the monitor. That means on larger monitors, these links are separated from the rest of the site content by several inches.

(Tacoma, Washington, USA)
Metro area (U.S only): Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, WA
Date added:
13 September 2011Designer: JF Designs
Comments & notes: At center left is a Flash movie showing video announcements — an intriguing idea, although the audio stuttered on my computer, probably due to my not having the latest Flash player installed.

-
(Corona, California, USA)
Metro area (U.S only): Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA
Date added:
23 August 2011Designer: PlainJoe Studios
Comments & notes: The large rectangular image at top center, under the navigation bar, is a slide show of announcements and ministry advertisements.

(Gresham, Oregon, USA)

Comments & notes: Actual website is more exciting than screenshot makes it appears to be. Mouse over the squares at bottom right (on the actual website) to see the rollover effects.

(Gainesville, Georgia, USA — one location among several, as this is a multisite church.)
Metro area (U.S only): Gainesville, GA
Date added:
13 September 2011Designer: Red Clay Interactive
Comments & notes: This is a multisite church with campuses in Georgia and Orange County, California — yes, across the country from each other. The screen shot shows a cropped portion of the splash screen, top, with links allowing the visitor to continue to the website of the Georgia campus (shown in the remainder of the screen shot) or to the website of the Orange County (Irvine) campus. Both campus websites are laid out similarly, though each has a different background image.

(Irving, Texas, USA)
Metro area (U.S only): Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX
Date added:
13 September 2011Designer: ChurchMedia
Comments & notes: 1) Large image at top, under menu, is a rotating slide show. 2) The horizontal block of four smaller images below the large image also is a rotating slide show, though only if you click a button to the left or right of the block. 3) At the bottom of the page are a number of promos for articles about people or ministries. 4) Unfortunately, the location (Irving, Texas) is nowhere displayed on the home page.

(Rockwall, Texas, USA — one location among several, as this is a multisite church.)
Metro area (U.S only): Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX
Date added:

Comments & notes: 1) The large image at top center is a rotating slide show. 2) Note the tabbed iFrame at bottom right, one tab for each of the church's campuses. 3) Website makes use of the jQuery library.
