Hi, to one and all,

In David's reply to Siam, he gave a list of hosts. I looked at them and checked out HostMonster. It seems to include everything under the sun...much of which I am not certain about.

HostMonster includes C-Panel. Is anyone familiar with C-Panel? I have worked with it a little bit on a friend's website. To me it seemed very awkward...and work kept disappearing from the page. However, that was probably my fault.

Has anyone used C-Panel over a period of time? What do you think of it? Can you do what you want to do with it? How bloated is the code? Yes, I have learned that not all WYSIWYG is not equal when it comes to "bloatedness." Does it come anywhere close to complying to standards? Does anyone know of any websites which have been made using it? How does it compare to the Blue Voda site builder.

Thanks to one and all for your feedback.

Carol

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but I was pretty sure that Cpanel is a Control Panel used to manage your hosting account, It probably has a WYSIWYG editor in it,(sitebuilder?). I probably need to google and make sure there isn't an application called C-panel that is used for building sites I bet. :)

Hi Carol,

I believe that C-Panel is a brand name for a hosting account administrator "control panel." It will work fine for you. Some companies offer C-Panel, some develop their own. They all do about the same thing: enable the customer to manage their own website as much as possible, reducing the amount of tech support necessary.

If "work kept disappearing" then likely you are referring to a website builder program, which is just one of the features of a typical control panel and doesn't reflect on the quality of the overall control panel.

Hi Carol,

I am with what David says, CPanel is just a Control Panel where we can manage our server. And I think Site Builder will depend on the company where we buy the hosting.

I used CPanel for quite sometimes now and I am very much comfortable with it. All the features are excellent. For online demo you can check it out at http://cpanel.siteground-demo.com.

So far as I know it is very good, especially for Joomla, because CPanel can automatically install all the script. For me all the Control Panel I used so far is CPanel. Just have a try, it is very easy to use.

Thanks
