The greatest lesson I learn't is:
Make periodical backups of your database. You should prepare for an actual hack attack. Hack attacks are not necessarily targeted at your site, it might be a neighboring site on the same hosting server. Periodical database backup could also save you a lot of time and frustration if you happen to have corrupted your database by mistake.
Ask for opinions. If you are making a major change to the community, ask for public opinion. You might get more suggestions out of it and help you make an informed decision.
Bring in new ideas and encourage members to contribute. Encourage members to work with you and help your forum grow. They'll feel important and heard.
David is doing a very good job as an admin here. Get some clues off him. :D
