Hi Everybody,

I changed my office website from static site to Joomla support site. As this is my first project in Joomla there are a lot of things I have to learn more. My office is a faith based organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS. I am the in-charge in IT & publication.

I will appreciate if you guys can review and give me comments on this site http://www.cana-india.org (http://www.cana-india.org/). As I say this is the first time I use Joomla and I learn it by myself.

I will also appreciate if someone can give me input technically in the used of Joomla.

Thank you
Siam Naulak

Siam,

The site looks great. Joomla is a very powerful tool. I have used it for a couple of projects now and am looking at converting our chruch site over.

Do you have many contributors to the content? This is where Joomla is great. People can create the content and you can edit or publish it.

One of the things I am looking forward to with Joomla fo the church is to publish "articles" that have an expiration date. With our church there is a lot of information that is time dependent. It is nice to have this information automatically disappear from the site once it is no longer current. Have you set up anything with an end date?

What template did you use?

Good Job.

Hi Mke

I did not came across 'expiration date' till now, it will be very good and convenient for us also if we can use expiration date. I will just try to find it out.

The template is from http://www.joomlart.com

Thanks

Siam

You can set the date that articles are published in the following way.

When editing or adding content in through Joomla Administrator click on the publishing tab (to the right of the content editing window). You can set the "start publishing" date and the "Finish Publishing" date. The default is that it is never finished.

I hope this helps.

Hi Siam,

Your site looks very nice, indeed.

However — and I'm sorry to disappoint you here — I'm going to close this thread and refer you to http://www.christian-web-masters.com/forums/ for a review there. The Church Webmasters' Forum is focused just on church websites.
