I need a visited link color. Here is our new logo:
http://fcctlh.org/images/logos/TextLogoGarnet.png
The other color I am using on the site is a golden-color, HTML code #e7e7b8 (This should be the color). It is used as a background color in a few places (most notably the menu). I set my visited link color to be red, but there is not enough difference between the two when you view the site as gray-scale.
Could someone suggest a new color?
Thanks a ton!

Jack,
Why don't you use purple?

Kyle--
That might work. I was talking to my brother about it last night, and he thought I was being too OCD about it, and I should let it drop. Purple might be an idea though, but the value will have to be much different than the garnet.

dark on dark is one thing but the browsers use blue for unvisited links, red for active links and purple for visited links, why did you switch away from purple in the first place? or did I miss something?

Ok but I'm still confused, one of these days your going to have to explain it all to me, use small words and type slow.

Yea, that idea is why I went to Kuler (http://kuler.adobe.com/) to look for colors. I just used your main logo color as a base color.

OK, seriously, I switched away from the default colors because I felt the colors contributed to the branding of the site. Tallahassee is a college town, and the biggest college here is Florida State University. The university's colors are garnet and gold, and so the colors provide a link to the community as well. Furthermore, there are a great number of apartments that cater to students surrounding our church. We get a good mix of people, from retirees to students, but garnet and gold makes sense for us.
So after re-defining the link and hover colors, the visited color needed to be redefined as well.

That would look like a cool tool if I had Flash 9 installed.
<mode rant="true">
Flash allows you to do some cool things, and I understand Adobe wanting to eat its newly acquired dog food. However, this constant pressure to upgrade Flash is a pain. Not only is a pain, but I would love to see a site that implements Flash in such a way that there is alternative content available to those without Flash or where Flash is not integrated with the browser they are surfing in (for example, it's integrate for me in IE, but not Firefox).

Ok that's what I was looking for, good reasoning, what an excellent and easy step to make a connection with the local enviroment.
