I can't find the thread right now so apologies for this side detratcion.
I've been following the discussion on music usage on teh web and whether CCLI or similar covers you and it set me to wondering how many of you in your churches are in the fortunate position where most of what you sing is of your own creation?
We are blessed in that worship is probably one of teh main driving forces of our Church and because of this we have had lots of very talented people write their own songs - so getting permission to use it is as simple as walking up to them on a Sunday.
All that said - I'm not sure we will be offering 'as live' music for download anyway. One of the intentions is to offer the music created by our members to the web, but no decision has yet been reached on the mechanism behind this.
IOW - do we offer it free, in a low quality and you purchase the sheet music and / or high quality recordings or do we charge for it all.
