I think the number one problem is that members in teh church do not care about Kingdom growth. This is the primary reason people are not involved. Maybe it's also the staff of the church not promoting its members to reach out. I don't know THoguht I would rant. What do you guys think?

Hi Sabrina,
Thanks for joining the forum, and posting.
I've moved this thread to here, from the Share and Care area of the forum. The latter is primarily for requests for prayers about personal matters.
But anyway, the issue about which you wrote can be summarized in this way: it's a question of whether a local church and its members are "inward focused" or "outward focused". Outward focused churches are very evangelistic and concerned for those who are not yet Christians.
I think the concept can be applied to church websites, too: should a church's website be inward focused (focused on the members and their needs) or outward focused (focused on non Christians)? I favor the latter, but not everyone will share that opinion.
Sincerely,

Hi,
People get involved in what is important to them. If we as a church cannot compete, yes, compete, with the other options that a person has, we will continue to lose members.
Any more, it is not enough to have good programs. We need to give people a reason for coming and participating. You would think that we have the best of all possible reasons for a person to attend and participate in church...the salvation of their souls.
I am certain that you have found as I have found that the busiest people in the world always find time to do the things they think are important in their lives. Unfortunately, in so many, many cases the church is not one of them.
People can build fancy buildings, basketball courts, huge organs, etc. but if the message is not clear, people will not come. It is not the building that is the church anyway. It is its people.
Jesus went where people were to talk to them. We expect people to come to us to be converted. That is not so likely to happen. We still need to go out and bring the people in.
Welcome to the forum!!
