The new Macromedia studio has come out and I just figured out that one of my clients has it on his MAC which he wants me to buy off of him dirt cheap (it's almost worth it for studio).So here's my question;

Has anybody got the new version?
If so what's really good about it?
What's disappointing?
What's overhyped?

Kyle;

Can't speak for the whole studio package, but I upgraded to Deamweaver 8 and it's a huge improvement over previous versions as far as the code it produces and its handling of CSS, but there are some quirks, noted below. I have older versions of Fireworks, and the other programs and see no reason to upgrade them, as I don't really use all of them. That whole Studio package is just too much money for me to justify.

Don't know how DW performs on a Mac, but I will say that I find it very sluggish on Windows and I tend to use it mainly for site management and do most of my markup by hand using either the included Homesite program or code view in DW. DW's site management features are hard to beat.

I find that DW will crash frequently and this version will give me messages that my system is low on memory when I have over 500MB free! Some bug, that seems to occur after I've had several windows open at the same time in code view. Closing and restarting the program will correct the problem (for a while) but it still happens too frequently.

I think the Fireworks program is great and use it all the time. I don't use Flash so that program is just there and never used.

If you haven't done so already, you might consider trying out the 30 evaluation version to see what you like/don't like. Of course getting the latest complete Studio versions included on a Mac - well thay may be a no-brainer.
