I plan to redesign our church web site http://www.cpcsebring.org in the weeks ahead. The site works to inform our church people of coming events, and I post pictures of events that have taken place. I am not sure what I am going to do, but will talk with the pastor first to see what changes he would like. I will problably buy a new template, and work from there. I think we need to have more of an outreach to our community here, and also an evangelistic outreach. I would like to print some of my pastor's sermons, as his sermon's are always interesting, helpful, and thought provoking.

Hi Audrey,

<< I think we need to have more of an outreach to our community here, and also an evangelistic outreach. >>

What are your thoughts regarding the desired target market (if you know what I mean) for the website? Having lived in Florida for a few years (Lakeland, Ft. Lauderdale), I can guess you have a lot of retirees living in the area, as well as seasonal snowbirds. But maybe there's a lot of unsaved Gen-Xers, too.

<< I would like to print some of my pastor's sermons, as his sermon's are always interesting, helpful, and thought provoking. >>

That'd be great. Consider developing a searchable database to make it easier for people to find messages that meet their felt needs.

And how about audio files of sermons? Would that be possible for you to do also, in addition to the text documents?

Sincerely,

The E-Ministry Question of the Week for December 26 - January 1, 2005, is:

Are you planning to redesign your church's website, and if so, why?

Not the churches, because you can't redesign what doesn't exist.

However, I am planning a redesign on http://www.tristatecamp.org. That format has been up for a number of years, and I have some issues with it.

All the HTML/SHMTL files are simply dumped in the root directory.
The fellowship church listing is bad (inconsistent in formats of mailing/physical addresses0.
The fellowship church listing is going to get more information.
