Good day,

My name is Kyle Malais from Huntington beach California. I am glad I found this site I can't wait to start interacting and learning a few new tricks.

I have been doing web design for about two years now and took over my church website from our staff about six months ago. I am currently about to put up a redesign so I will have to post that up under the redesign section.

For those of you who live in southern california I have recently started doing web ministry seminars to train new webmasters and/or ministry leaders about effective web ministry. If anyone would like to help I could use it.

Hi, Kyle,

On behalf of myself, welcome aboard. I think you will enjoy this forum. I know I do. I have little computer experience and even less experience building a website. I taught myself to use a computer 2 1/2 years ago. I used a book and plunged right in.

I think it is great fun. I knew nothing of website building so I jumped in on that as well. I have lots to learn, but this is a good place to do so. There are some very bright people here...and they seem to be nice too so who could ask for more!!

I am looking forward to seeing your redesign. I took a look at a couple of pages of the current website. My immediate thought was that there sure were lots of colors on the home page...and they don't match. However, that is just me. I am an old fuddy duddy (64 which isn't old but I like the expression, "old fuddy duddy"), and I tend to like colors to match and for the design to be symmetric as opposed to asymmetric...in general. I take it that you have a very aggressive church as well. :D

I have learned lots on here and UMConnect as well. I too will be doing some redesigning in the next year or so. I am working on designs etc. now to try to get some good ideas. I have so much to learn!!

Once again, welcome, and thanks for volunteering your expertise. I just may be taking you up on your offer.

It's a little quiet at the momentIndeed. It's summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. (I state the obvious because one or more of our members is from Australia, where it's winter.)

I would hope that all our members are enjoying outdoor activities with their friends and family during this summer season.

Because this is so, posts are likely to go unanswered for a few days, or even a week. I like to mention this from time to time, so that new members don't get discouraged. Things will pick up in the fall, however.
